IgniteHER45 Menopause Health, Fitness & Nutrition Coaching
“When I turned 60, I decided I wanted to be in bad-ass shape by 65, so I searched for a coach. Menopause had wreaked havoc with my body, and my tried and true exercise and diet “tricks”were not working. When I reached out to Jody, she suggested we meet in person to chat-a small gesture that made a big impact. She cared! Her approach is extremely practical-just get started, she said-I will meet you where you are and take you where you want to go. As a former dancer I had turned to yoga but it was not enough. On the nutrition front, Jody is the Menopause Whisperer who explains what your hormones are doing and what foods can help you manage symptoms and support your activity. On the exercise front, Jody introduced me to strength training, plyometrics, grip work, HIIT balance work and mobility. Not surprisingly, since working with Jody I feel stronger and have worked up to deadlifting 100 lbs! I even think chin-ups may be in my future.”
"P.S. I have swapped over 10 inches of fat for muscle over the course of our time together”

“I could see the pounds creeping up on me little by little each year and in places I didn’t hold weight before. I didn’t like my lack of muscle tone and knew things would only get worse as I got older. I also felt like I couldn’t find the right workout program for me that I could or would stick to. I wanted the workouts spelled out for me but I wanted to do them on my own, with my own music at a time that worked for me. I also knew I probably needed some nutritional tweaks but was so overwhelmed by the massive information on the internet- some of which was conflicting, but also needed something specifically tailored for my build, age and lifestyle.
Before IgniteHER45 I was feeling discouraged because I thought what I used to do should work but it wasn’t. Not to mention my method of keeping myself in shape and trying to keep my weight down was so completely backwards and unhealthy. I was afraid of animal proteins and subsisted on fruits, veggies and carbs. And lots and lots of sugar. I was self conscious of my weight and build (until around 2014 (age 42) I was always very fit and the smallest person in the room),I also didn’t like how clothes looked on me and it was frustrating. I was tied and felt like I was aging too fast.
Everyone has different needs and if you feel in your gut that you’ve “tried everything” then take the time and make the investment to get some help. What I’ve learned has not just been ingrained in me, but I’ve also broken years and years of horrible habits (little sleep, lack of proper nutrition too the list).”

Moments into my first conversation with Jody, I knew something clicked. She heard me. More than that, she listened to me. The best part of the conversation Jody gave me hope. Jody builtan exercise program that fit my needs and did not overwhelm me. Weekly check-ins were invaluable to me. Reflecting on all aspects of my week allowed for realistic goals for the next.. Jody helped me to understand the scale is not the only way to measure success.
As each week finished, I felt stronger and within two months, I was asking Jody to increase my weight training program. She had built a program that gradually gave me the confidence that I am strong, and I can make this a lifestyle change. Jody spent time helping me to understand my nutrition and tweaking it so that I am feeling fulfilled and making healthier choices. Who knew I was not eating enough protein and fiber. Jody knew and guided me with different strategies to get more protein and fiber into my daily diet. She did not take the food away.
I started to lose some weight, but the best part of my journey was that in four months I lost over nine inches total. That was more exciting to me than any number on the scale and the bonus is that my clothes fit so much better than ever before.
Jody taught me this is a lifelong journey. She gave me the tools, motivation and was my best cheerleader to help me on this journey. Jody taught me that it is ok to put myself first. At the end of my six months, I was almost convinced that her little bird was ready to leave the nest but after some consideration, I decided to keep her on board with me for another six months.
I would highly recommend Jody to help someone in their fitness and health journey. Jody will always be a part of my journey, and I plan to update her with my progress. I am so much stronger as I move closer to 59 and when I turn 60 my goal is to be the healthiest, I have ever been in my life. Thank you, Jody Trostler! You are my inspiration!

Ever hear that it takes an average off 66 days to form a new habit?
Exercise has to be looked at a bit differently. A habit may be going to bed earlier or drinking more water throughout the day. When it comes to exercise it involves a schedule adjustments and a different type of commitment. Within just 3-4 weeks you will begin to notice changes due to consistent changes in your routine. In 4-6 months of consistent work you can do an amazing overhaul on your health and fitness. I want to get my clients to a point where the consistency is a no brainer…by 6 months deep habits are formed. Strength -specific results take at least the same amount of time.
